Tourist stay in the Doubs region near Besançon
Champlive & the Doubs – Our beloved territory at your fingertips
Nestled in the Doubs Valley, Champlive captivates visitors with its verdant setting and authentic rural heritage.
Surrounded by forests, cliffs, and rivers, our quintessential Franche-Comté village is a haven of peace for nature lovers and hikers. The trails reveal stunning panoramas of the Doubs gorges and the surrounding plateaus. A land of character bordering Switzerland, the Doubs region unfolds its many charms.
Explore the treasures of the Doubs through nature and hiking.
From our inn, you can easily explore the region: the mysterious springs of the Lison River; charming villages such as Ornans (Courbet's birthplace) and Baume-les-Dames; and the valleys of the Dessoubre, Ognon, Doubs, and Loue rivers, which offer magnificent landscapes and are a paradise for fly-fishing enthusiasts. Have fun with the family at the Dino-Zoo prehistoric park, and for food lovers, don't miss the Pays de Morteau where you can visit traditional smokehouses and taste the famous smoked meats that are the pride of our Franche-Comté region.
Besançon, our Franche-Comté capital:
A leading city in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, Besançon elegantly combines dynamism and heritage. Designated a City of Art and History, it nestles in a bend of the Doubs River, dominated by its majestic Vauban citadel. Its fortifications, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, bear witness to its prestigious past.
Our favorite!
Explore the open-air museum of Comtois Houses in Nancray (just 7 km from our inn – a visit we highly recommend, in keeping with our philosophy!).
You'll see, the Doubs region has a thousand surprises in store for you!
